Bladder & Prostate

Bladder & Prostate Care

Problems affecting the bladder and prostate are common urological concerns, particularly in men as they grow older. These conditions can affect urination, bladder control and overall quality of life.

At Divine Care Clinic, we provide evaluation and personalised management for a range of bladder and prostate conditions. Our aim is to identify the cause of urinary symptoms and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.

Bladder Problems

Bladder conditions can affect how frequently or comfortably a person urinates. Common symptoms may include:

  • Frequent urination
  • Urgency to urinate
  • Burning or discomfort while passing urine
  • Difficulty emptying the bladder
  • Urinary leakage
  • Blood in the urine
  • Getting up frequently at night to urinate

Prostate Problems

The prostate is a gland located below the bladder in men. Prostate-related conditions can interfere with normal urine flow and may become more common with increasing age.

One of the common prostate conditions is benign prostatic enlargement (BPH), which can cause urinary symptoms without being cancer.

Common Symptoms of Prostate Enlargement

  • Difficulty starting urination
  • Weak or interrupted urine flow
  • Frequent urination
  • Urgency to urinate
  • Frequent nighttime urination
  • Feeling that the bladder has not emptied completely
  • Dribbling after urination

Diagnosis

A detailed evaluation helps determine whether symptoms are related to the bladder, prostate or another urinary condition. Depending on the patient's symptoms, evaluation may include a medical history, physical examination, urine tests, blood tests, imaging and other urological investigations.

Treatment

Treatment depends on the underlying condition and severity of symptoms. Depending on the diagnosis, management may include lifestyle changes, medicines, minimally invasive procedures or surgery.

Patients with persistent urinary symptoms should undergo proper evaluation rather than assuming that the symptoms are simply a normal part of ageing.

When Should You See a Urologist?

You should consider a urological consultation if you experience persistent changes in urination, difficulty passing urine, blood in the urine, recurrent urinary problems or symptoms that interfere with sleep and daily activities.
