Obstetrics

Comprehensive Obstetric Care

Obstetrics focuses on the care of women throughout pregnancy, labour, childbirth and the period following delivery. Appropriate antenatal care helps monitor the health of both mother and baby and identify potential concerns early.

At Divine Care, obstetric care is planned according to the individual needs of each pregnancy, from routine antenatal monitoring to the management of high-risk pregnancies and delivery planning.

Antenatal Care

Regular antenatal consultations allow the pregnancy to be monitored as it progresses. During these visits, the doctor may assess the mother's health, baby's growth and other factors relevant to the pregnancy.

  • Routine pregnancy consultations
  • Monitoring maternal health
  • Monitoring fetal growth and wellbeing
  • Pregnancy-related blood and urine investigations
  • Ultrasound examinations when indicated
  • Screening for pregnancy-related complications
  • Individualised birth planning

High-Risk Pregnancy Care

Some pregnancies require closer monitoring because of maternal health conditions, pregnancy complications or concerns affecting the baby.

High-risk pregnancy care may involve additional monitoring, investigations and coordination with other specialists when necessary.

Labour and Delivery Care

Labour and delivery are managed according to the health of the mother, baby's wellbeing and progress of labour.

Depending on the individual situation, the delivery plan may include vaginal delivery, pain-relief options during labour or caesarean delivery when medically indicated.

Painless Labour and Delivery

Women who are concerned about labour pain can discuss available pain-relief options during antenatal consultations. Epidural analgesia is one option that may provide significant pain relief during labour when it is appropriate for the mother.

Postnatal Care

Care does not end after delivery. Postnatal follow-up helps monitor the mother's recovery and provides an opportunity to discuss breastfeeding, recovery, contraception and other concerns following childbirth.

When Should You Begin Antenatal Care?

Pregnancy care should ideally begin early in pregnancy. Regular follow-up appointments help your obstetrician monitor pregnancy progression and identify concerns that may require further evaluation.
