Hysteroscopy

Advanced Diagnostic & Operative Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to look inside your uterus in order to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding. At Divine Care, we use state-of-the-art hysteroscopes to perform these procedures safely and effectively with minimal discomfort.

Why is it performed?

Hysteroscopy can be both diagnostic and operative. It is commonly used for:

  • Investigating causes of infertility or repeated miscarriages.
  • Diagnosing and removing uterine fibroids or polyps.
  • Finding and removing a displaced intrauterine device (IUD).
  • Treating abnormal uterine bleeding.

The Procedure

A thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope is inserted into the vagina to examine the cervix and inside of the uterus. Depending on the purpose of the procedure, it may be performed in an outpatient setting or under anesthesia in an operating room. Recovery is typically fast, with most patients returning to normal activities within a few days.
